U.S. District Judge James Munley ruled yesterday that landlords, tenants and businesses that cater to Hispanics faced "irreparable harm" from the laws and issued a temporary restraining order blocking their enforcement.
"We find it in the public interest to protect residents' access to homes, education, jobs and businesses," he wrote in a 13-page opinion.
Hispanic groups and the ACLU sued Hazleton Mon-day, contending the laws trample on the federal government's exclusive power to regulate immigration.
The plaintiffs include the Hazleton Hispanic Business Association, landlords, a restaurateur and several illegal immigrants facing eviction, including children who attend public schools.'
So, thanks, Judge Munley, for ruling in favor of this ragtag coalition of illegals, people who profit from their illicit presence in our country, and the sleazy ambulance-chasing lawyers who no doubt sought out these people to push this lawsuit forward. I guess America isn't disintegrating fast enough; they have to work relentlessly, to try to further hasten the fall of traditional America. I think they sense that momentum is on their side and they are taking advantage of their perceived strength.
Thanks to our rogue judges and the ACLU, along with the 'Hispanic Business Association', the citizens of Hazelton have been further deprived of their rights as citizens to exercise some control over their community. It seems with each day that passes, and each such judicial outrage, the citizens of this country are being spat on, and their rights overridden by these agenda-driven ideologues, along with the opportunist illegals.
To be a citizen in America in 2006 increasingly means to be marginalized, and to use a favorite whine-word of the left, 'disenfranchised.' In case after case, we have seen courts and leftist lawyers aligning themselves with lawbreakers, invaders, and assorted criminals to diminish the rights ot citizens by colluding to overturn the sovereign will of the people (read: citizens) as expressed in duly passed legislation. (Think Prop. 187 in California.)
We see this process at work also with the recent court decision on gay 'marriage' in New Jersey.
The fact that these unelected tyrants in robes can override the voices of the citizens of this country ultimately renders our votes empty and useless. In essence, our power as citizens has been usurped from us, by both treasonous judges and lawyers, acting on behalf of covetous illegals, who have somehow become convinced that they have 'rights' in our country which trump the rights of American citizens.
In a sense, it could be said that the very ideas of citizenship and nationality have been abolished, when trespassers from any country on earth can illicitly enter our country and demand privileges formerly reserved for citizens alone. And when our legal system accords them greater consideration, what then does 'citizenship' amount to? It's no more than a meaningless word. And what does 'American' mean any longer?
Back in spring of this year, when the brazen illegals were running riot in our streets, waving Mexican (later, American) flags, and signs proclaiming 'Somos America' -- 'We are America', many of us were angered at this effrontery. But maybe they were right: America, it seems, includes anybody who is able to plant a foot on our soil. Birth and ancestry and legal citizenship mean nothing. Being an 'immigrant', especially one of a designated victim group, gives them special status, above that of American citizens.
So now, the very term 'second-class' is implicit in the word 'citizen.'
Thanks to the black-robed dictators and the ACLU ambulance-chasing Judases.
Still, Hazelton Mayor Lou Barletta maintains his optimistic stance. I admire that; God bless him, although my optimism wanes a little every time the other side wins yet another sleazy victory.
