Of politicians and plotters of terror

In doing some reading around the Internet, I have come across information suggesting that the Albanian Kosovars who were arrested in the Fort Dix terror plot may have connections, via their involvement in the roofing business, with one Florin Krasniqi. Krasniqi is another Albanian Moslem who, according to the Serbianna blog, dominates the roofing business in the New York area, and who has been linked to weapons-smuggling to the Kosovo Liberation Army, or the KLA.

Interestingly, according to the Serbianna blogger, Krasniqi has been a contributor to political campaigns like those of John Kerry, Wesley Clarke, John McCain, and none other than Tom Lantos, who is now promising a Moslem state in the heart of Europe.

Here, on the Serbian News Network, we read about the complex connections between the Kosovo and the 'Muslim mafia' and the various drug producers in Afghanistan, Iran, and Pakistan.

March 18, 2007 -- Kosovo Albanian military and police is under complete
control of the notorious Muslim Albanian mafia and if Kosovo becomes independent,
the mafia will have an unprecedented total control, from the top to the
underground, says Marko Nicovic, former Chief of Belgrade police and an
expert on mafia crimes in the Balkans.

"At the last congress in Phoenix in Arizona where I participated last
October, the final conclusion of the congress was that 90% of all financial
support of terrorist action in the world comes from drug dealing, and if
you have on the other side the Albanian mafia, it is connected with all
of these activities," says Nicovic.

Over 40% of the world heroin smuggling is controlled by the Albanian
mafia, and only in the US, 30% of heroin is sold by the emerging Albanian
Muslim mafia cartel.

The international recognition of Kosovo will strengthen the drug cartelization
that is already taking place through arranged marriages between Muslim
Albanian families in Kosovo and the drug producers in Afghanistan, Pakistan
and Iran says Marko Nicovic.''
[...]
"It will be the very big problem for the Western countries especially
now when Kosovo is almost independent. After that European countries will
have our Columbia [sic] in Europe," says Nicovic. "It will be the first time
in history that mafia has its own country."

Nicovic says that large amount of the Albanian mafia money is invested
into political activities such as lobbies that advocate independence for
Kosovo.

"That lobby would organize the structure that would include, for example,
some Congressman, some journalist, some analysts, institutes, foundations...
for the project of an independent Kosovo," says Nicovic.''

I wonder, would those 'political activities' funded by the drug money include terrorism? And who would the Congressmen and the journalists be, for example?

Here is an interesting, if rather dated, forum thread on the KLA and the John Kerry campaign, including some photos (scroll down the page) of said Mr. Krasniqi and his history:

Owner of Triangle General Contractors in Brooklyn. He immigrated to the United States from Kosovo on Christmas Eve 1988 by sneaking across the Mexican border in the trunk of a Cadillac. He would eventually raise $30 million for the Kosovo Liberation Army and smuggle hundreds of high-powered American sniper rifles to the guerrillas. ''

Krasniqi himself says that he was smuggled into this country; how on earth did he get American citizenship? Does money buy everything?

Julia Gorin writes, in a piece from 2005, that Krasniqi was the subject of a PBS documentary, which was entitled "The Brooklyn Connection", which reported that Homeland Security had launched an investigation of Krasniqi.

Realizing Albanians could lose the good will of Americans once they see the documentary, Krasniqi went on "60 Minutes" last Sunday, to paint himself as a concerned citizen promoting anti-gun legislation.

But "The Brooklyn Connection" is damning, demonstrating just how seriously our 1999 blunder continues to backfire, as the film follows Krasniqi's life: at home in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, with his wife and three kids; at the gun store buying a .50-caliber rifle; at an army surplus store buying fatigues and holsters; at the airport checking in his firearm; and at a 2003 John Kerry fundraiser writing out thousand-dollar checks.

"With money, you can do amazing things in this country," Krasniqi rhapsodizes. "Senators and congressmen are looking for donations, and if you raise the money they need for their campaigns, they pay you back." '

Gorin wrote more about the prospect of an independent Kosovo here

Toronto Star columnist Richard Gwyn said it best yesterday in "Kosovo's Quiet Road to Sovereignty":

Kosovo is about to become independent while at the same time everyone involved will be able to claim their fingers were not on the button when this happens. The process by which this is happening is so creative and skilled, and devious and guileful that, shifted over a thousand or so kilometres, it might conceivably achieve [a Palestinian state].

The key is a scheme cooked up by the European Union by which Kosovo itself will simply declare itself to be independent; afterwards, other countries can recognize it as they choose.''

Was Tom Lantos a recipient of contributions from Krasniqi? As the chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee he has been a vocal supporter of independence for Kosovo, for the idea of an Islamic country within Europe.

And apparently our State Department sponsored the visit of Kosovo's 'top Islamic leader' who was recently in Detroit lobbying for support for an independent Kosovo:

The top Islamic leader of Kosovo spoke to Muslims in metro Detroit today, asking them to support the independence of his province.

Mufti Naim Ternava, president of the Islamic Community of Kosovo, is in Michigan as part of a visit to the U.S. to garner support for making Kosovo an independent country. The Muslim-majority province is currently a part of Serbia.''
[...]
Ternava also urged the crowd to follow the teachings of Islam.

During his U.S. trip, which is sponsored by the U.S. State Dept., Ternava is also visiting New York, and Washington D.C. to meet with Muslims and State Dept. officials.

He visited Michigan because of its significant Muslim population, which includes many with roots in Kosovo.''

And here is a link to the text of Lantos' recent speech on "The Outlook for the Independence of Kosova"

I can't tie all this together neatly; I am no expert on the maddening complexities of the Balkan conflicts; I just know that we have been on the wrong side of that conflict all along, and that it looks like there is a complex web of connections between al-Qaeda and the various Moslem factions in the Balkans, and it looks as though they all converge here within our country. And it is only because of our deranged immigration policies and our multicultural madness that all these groups have managed some kind of confluence within our own borders, and have seemingly come close to perpetrating yet another attack on our country.

Maybe somebody much cleverer than I am can puzzle out the connections between these various Moslem factions, and the bought-and-paid-for politicians who are in bed with them, and trace the line to these terror suspects in New Jersey.

Why are our 'professional journalists', who pride themselves on being the Real Thing, as opposed to bloggers, not unraveling this whole thing? Julia Gorin, as far as I can determine, is about the only one who seems to be pursuing this over the past few years.

I will be watching for some further stories on these connections, but I won't be holding my breath.
