My readers may have noticed that for some time now, I haven't displayed the flag image that used to adorn this blog.
Like many other dissenters, apparently, I have started to question whether the flag still represents the Republic of our forefathers. Some would say it hasn't, for a long time now. However, recent events seem to have made it clearer than at any time before that our fathers' America no longer exists, and the flag certainly seems no longer to represent us or the Republic.
So in recent months I've debated with myself whether to choose a new symbol for this blog. I've toyed with the idea of displaying one of the historic flags of this country, such as the Grand Union flag, as seen above, or the old Betsy Ross flag. I've also considered the flag of my Gonzales ancestors, the ''Come and Take It'' flag, for which I also have a sentimental feeling.
There is of course the Confederate battle flag, around which so much controversy has been created, and the 'Bonnie Blue' flag, that 'bears the single star.'
Over at CofCC, there is a post about this subject, and it seems that a number of ''conservative, right-wing, pro-gun and libertarian' bloggers are planning on flying the Gadsden flag, the 'Don't Tread On Me' flag, during the upcoming administration.
What, if any thoughts, do you all have about this flag issue?
