One pathetic sidenote to the story: according to Old Atlantic's links, the young man insists that the attack had nothing to do with immigration and that those disseminating the video were 'racist.' What more need I say about the state of the West? That says it all.
Meanwhile, back at the front, the Seattle media report a couple of attacks by a trio of girls, who in a recent incident attacked a female student. However, typical of the dishonest and politically correct media, no description of the mysterious 'girls' is provided.
A short time later, a strong-arm robbery attempt was reported several blocks away, at Cowen Place Northeast and Northeast Ravenna Boulevard. The assailants, whose descriptions were similar to the earlier incident, were unable to wrestle anything away from the victim, but the victim sustained a head laceration.''
Note this line: 'The assailants, whose descriptions were similar to the earlier incident...' A hint to the genius journalists who write this stuff: it would be rather helpful, don't you think, to actually include those descriptions? But maybe not; after all it might hurt somebody's feelings and lead to racial profiling, which we know to be far worse than letting aggressive criminals go free to victimize hapless citizens.
Read the comments; some people, even in Seattle, have common sense, but the usual PC pharisees show up to warn us that if not for downplaying the race of the attackers (who were apparently nonwhite) innocent people of color might be 'lynched' by Seattleites. Yes, some commenter actually used that l-word. Do they really believe that? What a world they must live in if they believe their nonsense.
But this story is even more troubling than the one about the girls; a disabled man attacked at a transit center outside Seattle.
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- The search is on for the men who attacked a disabled man, leaving him with numerous broken bones and a jaw that has been wired shut.
Surveillance cameras captured the beating of the 32-year-old man at the Federal Way Transit Center a little after 11 p.m. on Monday.
"I was like, 'Just stop! Just stop!"' said the victim's roommate, whom KOMO News has chosen to identify as "Kevin." Kevin had been waiting for a bus with the victim, and witnessed the attack.
But the men didn't stop throwing punches at the victim, "Kris," who lost both legs below the knee in an accident.
Kevin said the group of men pounced on Kris when he asked the boisterous group to settle down.
"(He) just exclaims, you know, 'Will you please just shut up?' That's all it took for these guy to swarm him," he said.
Investigators said two men, between the ages of 18 and 21, attacked Kris, each delivering a damaging blow. The first punch stunned him, and the second punch knocked him to the ground.
"Their friends were cheering them on, 'Hit him again!'" Kevin said.''
A number of questions occur; I suppose it's facile to ask whether the friend did what he could to help fend off the attack on the victim, who walks with prostheses after having both legs amputated. It appears from the surveillance camera pictures that there were a number of 'youths' ganging up on the victim, and probably others nearby would have joined in if the victim's friend had tried to fight the attackers. They were simply outnumbered.
I believe in self-defense but there are times when the odds are strongly in favor of the aggressors, and that is the way they like it; it's usually half a dozen or more against one or two. So I suppose the only thing that can be recommended is to try to avoid locations like the one where the attack occurred, where young thugs tend to loiter and congregate, and to stay away, when possible, from these 'vibrant and diverse' areas where thugs dominate the streets. In liberal Seattle, however, doing so is probably considered a hate crime.
Still, I have to ask whether a 'whipped' attitude on the part of many White people does not encourage aggression on the part of the street thugs and other miscreants. They sense that people are trying to avoid confrontation and will be emboldened by that attitude. However, in this case, the young man who was attacked had rebuked the 'diversity' for being loud and obnoxious, and this drew their anger. Still, I am not saying he asked for the attack, or that he is to blame; however, it's prudent to weigh the consequences before confronting strangers on the street, even when they are in the wrong and misbehaving as the attackers were.
When I look at stories like the above-linked ones, and the others in yesterday's post, I don't regret my decision to leave the big city environment. The wonder is not that many people choose to flee these 'vibrant and diverse' cities and suburbs, but that so many decide to stay, and become inured to it. Living with violence or the ever-present threat thereof becomes a way of life, and people become jaded to it, dismissing the danger as just an unavoidable part of life in the 21st century. This is just another manifestation of the demoralization of our people, and our culture of 'defining deviancy downward'. People become resigned and cynical and hardened, and this too plays a part in why our society is crumbling and why we have become so passive and fatalistic as a group.
It would be a great step forward if people could realize that it need not be this way. It is possible, given the right circumstances, to live a civilized life in this country, but the powers that be are working furiously to eliminate that possibility, depriving us not only of freedom of association, but to encourage us to believe that violence and conflict are perfectly normal and acceptable in our multicultural and diverse ''America.'' Peace and order are just outdated White, Anglo concepts; how boring. Diversity means excitement and danger; isn't that better than boring old Whitebread America, where nothing ever happened?
Meantime I truly do feel for the young man who was brutally attacked; I hope he makes a complete recovery and I truly hope he finds a safer place to live, where he need not fear being victimized by feral 'youths'.
