I can't say I have much emotion in response to this. Maybe if it had happened right after 9/11, when we had been led to believe that he was behind it all, and emotions were running high. But as of now, does it change anything?
If this were a sane and just world, it would mean that we would now get our troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan and wherever they are in the Middle East. But I have a feeling it won't bring an end to the wars; the wars have taken on a life of their own, and are being justified under various pretexts other than 'getting' bin Laden.
Predictably, the One is claiming credit for this, and I have a feeling the lefties will cheer him, even though they would have called it an outrage and a war crime if anyone but a Democrat was in office. Nobody ever accused them of being consistent or logical.
And I wonder: if Bin Laden was killed a week ago, have they been sitting on this story all that time, waiting for an opportune time to announce it, or was it really because they were working on the DNA evidence?
Oh, but silly me, we can trust what the media and our authorities tell us, absolutely.
